Melisande Singh
(Owner, Dance Teacher/Choreographer & Barre Instructor)

Melisande, better known as Milly, first stepped into the world of dance at a local community school, while simultaneously developing strength and discipline training as a competitive high-level gymnast. Her dua passion for dance and performance led her to the prestigious Waterfront Theatre School, where she completed advanced examinations in classical ballet, modern jazz and tap. Her qualifications were further enhanced by achieving three associate teaching certifications in Ballet, Modern Jazz and Tap, two teaching diplomas in Modern Jazz and Tap, from the esteemed Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in London and a hip-hop teaching certificate from a nationally recognized dance establishment. Later in her career, she added to her list of achievements by completing her Barre Instructor certificiation through Breathe Barre.

With over a decade of teaching experience and an extensive performance background, including roles in the international tour of Grease the musical, national and international television commercials and corporate productions for both local and global companies, Milly brings a wealth of knowledge, artistry and professionalism to her teaching.

As the new owner of True Vine Dance Studio, Milly is deepply committed to cultivating a nurturing environment where dancers of all agess and levels can grow in confidence, artistic ability and joy. Her vision combines excellence with heartfelt teaching, ensuring that every dancer discovers their unique rhythm and potential both inside the studio and throughout life. 

Grounded in her strong Christian faith, Milly leads with authenticity, gratitude and purpose. Her faith continues to inspire her work and fuels her desire to uplift and encourage others through dance. Under her leadership, True Vine Dance Studio continues to flourish as a vibrant community where passion meets purpose. With her well-rounded approach to dance education, she inspired students to develop not only strong technique, but also expressive artistry, creativity and resilience. Whether aspiring professionals or recreational dancers, every student is guided to find joy in movement, confidence in performance and a lifelong love for dance.





 

Monique Slabbert
(Senior Dance Teacher and Choreographer)

Monique began her journey at the age of three through gymnastics - developing strength, flexibility, and a deep appreciation for disciplined training. At seven, her passion expanded to include modern, hip hop, and rhythmic gymnastics, where she discovered her love for creative expression through music and movement. At thirteen, she added ballet to her repertoire, an artistic combination that ultimately led her to the renowned Waterfront Theatre College.

 

During her time at Waterfront, Monique completed advanced examinations in classical ballet, modern, contemporary, and tap, while performing in numerous dance productions, one-act plays, and festivals such as Suidooster Fees, Dancers for Dancers, and Dancers Love Dogs. Her dedication to both performance and teaching inspired her to further her qualifications, earning her teaching certifications in Modern and Hip Hop through the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD), as well as an LTCL in Speech and Drama from Trinity College London.

 

Now with over three years of teaching experience, Monique brings enthusiasm, creativity, and technical precision to every class she teaches. She is passionate about nurturing confidence, discipline, and joy in her students, encouraging them to grow not only as dancers, but as strong, expressive individuals.

As a member of the True Vine Dance Studio faculty, Monique is dedicated to creating a positive and inspiring environment where students of all ages can explore their artistry, challenge their limits, and find freedom in movement. She strives to combine strong technical foundations with creativity and individuality, helping each dancer discover their true potential both in and beyond the dance studio.

Simoné Jordaan
(Finance and Administration)

Simoné may not always be the first to take to the dance floor, unless it’s in the privacy of her living room, but having studied modern dance in school, she nurtured a lifelong love and appreciation for movement and the arts.

 

Today, Simoné channels that same energy and enthusiasm into keeping True Vine Dance Studio running seamlessly. She holds an incredible passion for administration and finances, managing everything from scheduling and communication to financial oversight with precision and care. With her sharp organizational skills, methodical approach and warm nature, Simoné creates a sense of calm and confidence behind the scenes, allowing teachers and students alike to focus fully on the art of dance.

 

Her dedication and commitment to the studio’s smooth operation play a vital role in helping True Vine thrive as a welcoming and inspiring space for all dancers. Whether coordinating events, streamlining processes or supporting the team in daily tasks, Simoné keeps the studio functioning like a well-choreographed performance.

Danae Innes


(Junior Dance Teacher & Wedding Choreographer)

Danae Innes’ dance journey began at a young age, where she quickly discovered that movement was more than just steps, it was a powerful form of expression, joy and connection. From her earliest days in the studio, dance became a space where she could grow in confidence, discipline and creativity, shaping not only her skills but who she is as a person.

As her love for dance deepened, Danae began participating in competitions across South Africa, performing on respected platforms such as South African Body of Dance (SABOD), Association of Dance and Arts (ADA) and Talent Africa, along with other regional and national competitions. These experiences refined her technique, strengthened her stage presence and fueled her passion for performance.

Her journey continued into professional productions, including theatre performances, tours, live events, and school and university productions. Through these diverse performance opportunities, Danae developed versatility, artistry and a deeper understanding of storytelling through movement.

Alongside performing, Danae discovered a growing passion for choreography and teaching. She has created choreography for shows, competitions, workshops, weddings and other events, working with dancers of various ages and skill levels - from beginners to more advanced performers. Over the past few years, she has gained valuable teaching experience, investing in young dancers and helping them grow in both technique and confidence.

Committed to excellence in her craft, Danae qualified as a Modern ISTD Associate, further strengthening her technical foundation and dedication to high training standards.


Danae brings vibrant energy, encouragement and heart into every class she teaches. She is deeply inspired by helping students discover their potential, grow in creativity and skill and experience the joy of dance in a supportive and uplifting environment. Her goal is to create a space where every dancer feels motivated and excited to learn.
